Changing ventilation rate

You may change the standard ventilation
rate (see chapter "Technical Specifications").
If you do, the recirculation rate and the
sound level of the unit will also change. To
change the ventilation rate, you must adjust
the setting of the tapping-voltage values on
the transformer.
WARNING:
• Disconnect the power to the unit.
1. Open the discharge grille.
2. Remove the bolt and open the electronics
lid.
3. Move the fast-on terminals on the trans-
former to the desired tapping-voltage
values.
– The figures on the transformer refer to the
tapping-voltage value. Lower tapping-voltage
values result in lower air flow rates and lower
sound levels. These are the factory settings:
position 1 – 115 V (purple cable)
position 2 – 140 V (white cable)
position 3 – 200 V (orange cable)
4. Close the electronics lid.
5. Close the grille.

Controlling KLVV

The KLVV cassette air heater can, in part, be
controlled by external control components.
The control components can steer two
functions:
1. opening/closing ventilation damper
2. switching additional heating on/off
WARNING:
• External control components must switch
with potential-free contacts.
1. opening/closing ventilation damper
Using this function the ventilation damper of
a KLVV cassette air heater can be opened
(ventilation) or closed (recirculation). The
installation's energy consumption can thus be
controlled remotely. The function may be
steered by, for instance, a BMS-controlled
relay.
1. Connect the control component to block
X73 on the KLVV's connector board.
– The working of the ventilation damper is
determined by the resistance between the
terminals of the connector (see table 4.1).
table 4.1: working of the ventilation damper
resistance
working
R = 0 Ω
The damper is released: using the
control panel, ventilation or recir-
culation can be selected.
R = ∞ Ω
The damper is closed: if ventila-
tion is selected from the control
panel, the valve will not open.
R = 100 kΩ
The damper is limited: if ventila-
tion is selected from the control
panel, the damper will alternately
open for 15 minutes and close for
15 minutes.
This function can be used to halve
the ventilation rate.
NOTE:
– With the KLVV-R, the damper will be auto-
matically limited if the outside air is colder
than 0 °C or warmer than 26 °C.
Alternately, the damper will then open for
15 minutes and close for 15 minutes.
2. switching additional heating on/off
NOTE:
– This function is available only with the
KLVV-R model.
Using this function, the KLVV cassette air
heater's discharge temperature setting (see
chapter "Installation", section "Setting
discharge temperature") may be temporarily
lifted. The total heating capacity of the KLVV
is then used to heat the room. This function
may be controlled using, for instance, a
room thermostat.
1. Connect the control component to
terminals 3 and 4 of the Satchwell con-
troller.
– If terminals 3 and 4 make contact, the
discharge temperature setting of the KLVV
cassette air heater will be lifted. The
maximum discharge temperature is 50 °C.
