9.7. Interpreter desk operation

9.7.1 Incoming Channel Control
(Listening)
Press the incoming floor key
incoming floor channel. Its associated LED
marked 'Floor' illuminates. If the LED marked
'Auto-relay' illuminates the incoming floor
channel has been automatically replaced by an
auto-relay interpretation
9.7.2 Incoming Channel Pre-select keys
The incoming channel pre-select keys
provide rapid selection between three pre-
selected incoming language channels of your
choice.To assign an incoming language to a
pre-select key, a, b, or c, proceed as follows:
- Press the key to be assigned. Ensure its LED
is lit.
- Select the required incoming language using
the incoming channel selector
- The last language selected will be assigned to
the chosen pre-select key.
- The above procedure is used to assign the
remaining two keys.
Note: The incoming languages selected
are displayed in their abbreviated form.
9.7.3 Outgoing Channel Control
(Speaking)
The desks outgoing A and B select keys
can be used while the desks microphone is
on. Output on channel B is only available if
programmed. If not programmed the display
shows OFF. Using the Outgoing B-select keys
< > a variety of different languages can be
selected for output on B.The B-select keys are
blocked when channel B is in use (microphone
on).
9.8 Programming
9.8.1 Introduction
Entering the interpreter desk into its
programming mode, enables the desk's
individual and interpretation system
to select the
parameters to be programmed manually prior
to the start of a conference.
Using the desks built-in LC-display the
following menus are available: However, some
menus are only applicable to the desk being
programmed, while other menus are
applicable to all interpreter desks installed in
the system.Therefore the following menus will
be assigned as 'Desk only' and 'System' only.
When programming the interpreter 'System'
parameters a single desk only should be used.
The assigned desk programmes all interpreter
desks in the system.
