Installing optical strain gages

Use a scalpel to cut the adhesive tape on the strain gage close to the
installation protection, as shown in Fig. 4.1.7.

Now carefully remove the installation aid. To do this, squeeze the edges of the
installation aid together, as shown. It will then be very easy to remove (Figs.
4.1.8 and 4.1.9).
