Explanation of governor options:
If a speed sensor is not connected to the system, the functions of the 3-position switch have the following
fixed default assignments:
Default assignments of the 3-position switch (AUX):
Position 0 (back)
Position 1 (centre)
Position 2 (forward)
If an Airspeed Sensor is connected to the system, the switch positions "0" and "2" can also be assigned
additional functions (see table above). These additional assignments apply only when the model is in the air
(i.e. airspeed > 40 km/hr), otherwise the default assignments apply.
As long as the 3-position switch is at the centre position, the ECU is always in "Thrust control" mode, and the
thrust of the turbine is controlled proportionally by the position of the throttle stick.
The possible options are:
Option
Hold-Speed
DISABLED/NONE
Turbine OFF
LrnSpeed Lo/Hi
Lrn Speed Lo
Lrn Speed Hi
: turbine off / emergency stop
: normal operation (Thrust-control)
: Auto-Off (= automatic shut-down sequence)
Description
Maintain current momentary airspeed.
The ECU stores the current airspeed (measured at the moment when the AUX switch
is operated) as the nominal value, and "Speed-control" mode is invoked with this
nominal speed, i.e. the model continues to fly at the airspeed measured at the time the
switch is operated, regardless of the position of the throttle stick. This state remains
active until the AUX switch is returned to the centre position.
No function ("Thrust-Control" mode remains active)
Shut down turbine immediately, as previously
"Learn" airspeed:
If the throttle stick is in the lower part of its travel at the moment when the 3-position
switch is operated, the current momentary airspeed is assigned to the "Min AirSpeed"
parameter and is stored.
If the throttle stick is in the upper part of its travel at the moment when the 3-position
switch is operated, the current momentary airspeed is assigned to the "Max AirSpeed"
parameter and is stored.
This option provides the means for the operator to determine the model's high and low
airspeeds by empirical methods, and to store them by operating the AUX switch
briefly. The values stored in this way are then used as the basis for the governor limit
values when you switch to "Speed-control" mode. You can also read them off directly
in the Limits menu once the model is back on the ground.
"Learn" the low airspeed:
The current momentary airspeed is assigned to the "Min AirSpeed" parameter and
stored as soon as the 3-position switch is moved to the back position.
Note: the model must be flying faster than 40 km/hr, otherwise the default mode is
active, and the turbine will be shut down when you operate the switch.
"Learn" the high airspeed:
The current momentary airspeed is assigned to the "Max AirSpeed" parameter and
stored as soon as the 3-position switch is moved to the back position.
Note: the model must be flying faster than 40 km/hr, otherwise the default mode is
active, and the turbine will be shut down when you operate the switch.
