5.3 Preparing the DIGITRADIO 230 OD for operation

5.3.1 Charge the battery and connect to the mains power supply.

When used for the first time, the rechargeable battery must be connected and fully
charged. Please refer to the information in Section 5.3.1.1.
> Insert the mains cable into a socket.
> The DIGITRADIO starts and runs an initial scan for stations in your area via DAB+.
Ensure that the antenna is correctly aligned as per Section 5.3.2.
> Once the station search has successfully completed, the first DAB station on
the station list is played. The charge status of the battery can be shown on the
display by pressing the INFO button multiple times.

The battery is charged as soon as the device is connected to the mains. The
charge status can be viewed via the display.
Replace a rechargeable battery that is weak in good time or recharge it.
