Sawing
Operation as a Pull Push Saw
When sawing with sliding action, you pull the saw blade from
rear to front through the held workpiece.
This operating mode is suitable for:
– Precise cuts
– Separating cuts
Conversion to a Pull Push Saw
When operating as a pull push saw, the saw blade must be
able to run freely over the complete cutting length.
– To release the saw blade, push lever 25 toward the left.
Sawing with Sliding Action (see figure Q)
– Adjust the desired mitre angle on the universal guide 1.
(see "Adjusting Mitre Angles", page 36)
Note: To avoid jamming or slipping of the workpiece, the
clearance between saw blade 28 and fence 36 may not
exceed 15 mm (max.).
– Adjust the desired bevel angle. (see "Adjusting Bevel An-
gles", page 37)
– Position the workpiece on the saw table in front of the
blade guard 3.
– Align your mark on the workpiece along the laser beam.
(see "Marking the Cutting Line", page 37)
– Raise or lower the saw blade with the crank 18 so that the
upper saw teeth project approx. 5 mm above the work-
piece surface.
– Adjust the blade guard according to the workpiece height.
When sawing, the blade guard must always face lightly
against the workpiece.
– Hold the workpiece and press it firmly against the fence.
– Switch on the machine.
– Actuate release lever 24 and pull the pull handle 23 with
uniform feed toward the front, so that the saw blade cuts
through the workpiece.
– Release the pull handle.
The saw blade returns to the starting position.
– Switch off the machine and wait until the saw blade has
come to a complete stop.
Sawing
Operation as a Table Saw
When using as a table saw, move the workpiece toward the
rear against the stationary saw blade.
This operating mode is suitable for:
– Lengthwise cuts
– Cutting lengths in excess of 212 mm
Conversion to a Table Saw (see figure R)
When operating as a table saw, the saw blade must be locked
in the centre of the saw table.
– Pull the release lever 24 and the pull handle 23 toward the
front and at the same time, push lever 25 toward the right
to lock the saw blade until it engages.
Bosch Power Tools
Sawing
– Adjust the desired bevel angle. (see "Adjusting Bevel An-
gles", page 37)
– Adjust a 0° mitre angle. (see "Adjusting Mitre Angles",
page 36)
– Depending on the workpiece size and on the set bevel an-
gle, mount the fence 36 upright or flat to the universal
guide 1. (see "Mounting the Fence to the Universal Guide",
page 35)
Note: When sawing, workpieces can become jammed be-
tween the universal guide and the saw blade, be caught by
the rotating saw blade, and be thrown from the machine.
Therefore, adjust the fence 36 in such a manner that its
guiding end ends in the area between the saw blade centre
and the riving knife.
For this, loosen wing bolt 34, move the fence and retighten
the wing bolt again.
– Switch on the machine.
– Saw through the workpiece applying uniform feed.
– Switch off the machine and wait until the saw blade has
come to a complete stop.

Storage and Transport

Storing the Power Tool
– Bring the machine into the transport position. (see
"Transport Position", page 36)
– Place the push stick 12 into the storage compartment 11.
– If possible, place unused saw blades in an enclosed con-
tainer for transport.
– Wind the mains cable around the cable holder 29.
Carrying the Power Tool
 The power tool should always be carried by two per-
sons in order to avoid back injuries.
 When transporting the power tool, only use the trans-
port fixtures. Never carry the power tool by the protec-
tive devices, the table extension 27 or the guides 8.
– For lifting or transport, reach into the recessed grips 6.
