GRASS DEFLECTOR LINE TRIMMING CUT-OFF
BLADE
See Figure 10.
The trimmer is equipped with a line trimming cut-off blade
on the grass deflector. For best cutting, advance line until
it is trimmed to length by the cut-off blade. Advance the
line whenever you hear the engine running faster than
normal, or when trimming efficiency diminishes. This will
maintain best performance and keep the line long.

STARTING AND STOPPING

NOTE: Be sure to return the stop switch to the "I" (RUN)
position before trying to start unit.
To start a cold engine:
See Figure 9a.
For RBC430SESC
Lay the trimmer on a flat, bare surface.
PRIME - Press the primer bulb 10 times.
SET the choke lever to the FULL CHOKE position.
KEEP the throttle trigger squeezed completely.
PULL the starter grip a quick firm and consistent
upward motion (no more than 4 times).
SET the choke lever to the HALF CHOKE position.
PULL the starter grip with a quick firm and consistent
upward motion (no more than 6 times) until engine
starts.
Allow engine to warm up for 6~10 seconds in the
HALF CHOKE position.
SET the choke lever to the RUN position, then
SQUEEZE the trigger to run.
For RBC430SBSC
Lay the trimmer on a flat, bare surface.
PRIME - Press the primer bulb 10 times.
SET the choke lever to the FULL CHOKE position.
Lock the throttle in position by depressing the throttle
interlock button.
PULL the starter grip with a quick firm and consistent
upward motion (no more than 4 times).
SET the choke lever to the HALF CHOKE position.
PULL the starter grip with a quick firm and consistent
upward motion (no more than 6 times) until engine

Please make sure the choke lever in "RUN" position
before squeezing the trigger to run.
If the engine stalls, set the choke lever to the RUN
position. Then pull starter rope until the unit starts.
To start a warm engine:
See Figure 9b.
Make sure there is fuel visible in the primer bulb, if not,
follow cold start procedure.
Make sure choke lever is set to RUN position.
PULL the rope quickly and sharply straight up until the
engine starts.
To stop the engine:
Press and hold the switch in the stop " O " position until
the engine stops.
MAINTENANCE

GENERAL MAINTENANCE

Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most
plastics are susceptible to damage from various types of
commercial solvents and may be damaged by their use.
Use clean cloths to remove dirt, dust, lubricant, grease.
You can often make adjustments and repairs described

parts. Chemicals can damage, weaken or
