OPERATING THE MACHINE

To Scrub / Sweep...
Start the engine following the steps listed in the engine starting section of this manual.
1 While seated on the machine, adjust the seat to a comfortable operating position using the adjustment lever (28).
2 Place the Brushes/Broom On-Off Lever (31) in the ON position.
3 Push the Squeegee Raise-Lower Switch (46) to lower the squeegee.
4 Place the Broom Raise-Lower Lever (35) in the SWEEP position (middle notch).
5 With the Engine Speed Switch (28) at FULL THROTTLE ( lll ), release the Parking Brake (50) and press the Forward/Reverse Drive Pedal (47) to move machine.
Vary the pressure on the Pedal to obtain the desired speed.
6 Move the Solution On-Off Lever (34) to about 1/3 to 1/2 open and also push the Solution On-Off switch (37) to the ON position.
7 Begin moving the machine forward while placing the Brush Raise-Lower Lever (32) in the DOWN position. Note: The Brush Down Indicator Light (33) will turn ON
(green) to signal the operator the scrub brushes are on the fl oor.
8 Begin scrubbing with slow, even, forward pedal pressure. Scrubbing results will be best at low speeds that allow the chemicals and brushes longer to work.
9 Check over your shoulder to see that all of the water is being picked up. If not, squeegee adjustments may be required or the recovery tank may be full.
10 Turns may be made with all functions operating, however you may want to shut the Solution Lever OFF before turning to prevent an accumulation of water on the
fl oor. Make sharp turns slowly for maximum water pick-up.
11 For very dirty fl oors, a one-pass operation may not be satisfactory and a "double-scrub" operation may be required. This operation is the same as a one-pass
operation except that on the fi rst pass the squeegee is in the UP position. This allows chemicals and water to remain on the fl oor to work longer. The fi nal pass is
made over the same area, this time with the squeegee lowered to pick up the solution accumulation.
12 When the recovery tank fi lls, a fl oat will automatically shut off the vacuum suction. Raise the scrub brushes immediately! This will automatically shut off the
solution fl ow. Raise the squeegee and broom. Move the machine to a designated waste water "DISPOSAL SITE" where the recovery tank can be drained and
cleaned. Refi ll the solution tank and continue cleaning.
Additional Operator Control Function Notes:
Squeegee System: The water pickup squeegee will raise automatically when the machine is driven in Reverse and lower when driven Forward. To activate the
automatic squeegee raise/lower function when scrubbing the Squeegee Raise / Lower Switch (46) must be turned On ( placed in the lowered position).
Scrub System: The rotation of the scrub brushes will stop any time the drive pedal is in the Neutral position. This only will happen when the brushes are down
on the fl oor and the Brush / Broom On-Off Lever (31) is ON. This feature will eliminate scarring the fl oor surface when the machine is stopped.
Scrub System: To raise the scrub brushes when the machine is not moving (in neutral) you must turn Off the Brush / Broom On-Off Lever (31) and raise brushes
by placing the Brush Raise / Lower Lever (32) in the down raised position. When brushes are up the indicator light will turn Off.
Solution System: The Solution Solenoid On-Off Switch (37) when ON, works in conjunction with the drive pedal. The solution will fl ow to the scrub brushes any
time the drive pedal is depressed (FWD or REV). When the pedal is in the neutral position the fl ow is Shut Off. If the Solution Solenoid On-Off Switch (37) is
turned OFF, no fl ow will occur regardless of the drive pedal position. This feature helps conserve solution usage.
Sweeping System: The sweeping broom's function is to pickup small debris that if not removed from the fl oor surface, collects under the squeegee blades, thus
reducing the water pick up and causes streaking. The side skirts function is to channel the waste water to the rear squeegee to help contain it with in the machine's
cleaning path. With the engine running, lowering of the Broom Raise / Lower Lever (35) will automatically lower both of the side broom skirts.
Engine Speed: The machine's hydraulic components will not operate at their maximum effi ciency until the Engine Speed Switch (28) is put in the (lll) position.
