c) Inrush function
The inrush function permits recording of start-up currents within 100 ms (millisec-
onds) in the measuring function A-AC. The measurement takes place in the meas-
uring range of 300 A with a trigger current of 5 A.
- Keep the button "Inrush" pressed for approx. 2 seconds.
Input is confirmed by a beep. The display shows the
symbol "INRUSH" together with the current type "AC".
Four dashes indicate readiness for measuring.
- Connect the current probe to the object to be measured.
- Switch on the object to be measured. Once the trigger
current of 5 A has been exceeded, the start-up current
will be displayed. The measured value remains on the
display.
- Push the button "Inrush" or "A" to return to the normal measuring function.
The inrush function is only available in AC current measuring opera-
tion.
The hold function is not available when the inrush function is active.
d) Display illumination
With the DMM switched on, the lighting button (7) can be used to switch the display
lighting on and off. Every brief pushing will switch the lighting on or off.
The lighting will switch off automatically after approx. 30 seconds.
e) Automatic deactivation
An automatic deactivation function switches off the multimeter independently if it
is not used for an extended period. This protects the battery and extends its ser-
vice life.
If the meter is not operated for approx. 20 minutes, it switches off automatically.
Just before deactivation, a signal is output 3x to signal that the device will soon be
deactivated.
The deactivation can be delayed by another 20 minutes by pushing any button.
Deactivating automatic deactivation
The automatic deactivation can be deactivated manually for a continuous measure-
ment. For this, switch off the meter. Push the button "V" and keep it pushed while
switching on.
