7.3. Cleaning the oil filter
Changing the engine oil.
Remove the oil filter (diag. C - no. 1) after unscrewing the mounting bolt (diag. C - no. 2).
Clean the oil filter with diesel or petrol.
Dry the oil filter then refit in the reverse order to removal.
Tighten the mounting bolt (diag. C - no. 2) on the oil filter (diag. C - no. 1).
Fill the engine with the required quantity of oil.
Switch on the generating set.
Check there are no leaks and top up the oil if necessary.
7.4. Renewing the engine oil
Observe the advice for protecting the environment (cf. Protecting the environment section) and drain the oil into an appropriate
container.
With the engine still warm, remove the dipstick/filler plug (diag. C – no. 3) and the drain plug (diag. C – no. 4).
When completely drained, screw the drain plug (diag. C - no. 4) back in fully.
Top up the engine oil sump with recommended oil (see the Specifications section), and check the level.
Refit and tighten the dipstick/filler plug (diag. C - no. 3).
Check that there are no oil leaks after filling.
Wipe off any trace of oil with a clean cloth.

7.5. Replacing the fuel filter

Danger
Close the fuel tap (diag. D – no. 6).
Observe the direction of fitting for the filter.
Undo the two mounting clips (diag. D - no. 5) from pipes on the fuel filter (diag. D - no. 4) and remove the filter. Recover the fuel in
a suitable container.
Fit a new fuel filter to the pipes and attach it using clips (check that the direction of fitting is correct).
Open the fuel tap (diag. D - no. 6) and check that there are no leaks.
7.6. Checking bolts, nuts and screws
To prevent faults or breakdowns, carefully check all the nuts, bolts and screws on a daily basis.
Inspect the entire generating set before and after each use.
Tighten any loose nuts or bolts.
Danger: The cylinder head bolts must be tightened by a specialist. Refer to the agent for your region.
Do not smoke, cause sparks or bring naked flames into the vicinity. Check there are no
leaks, wipe away all traces of fuel and ensure vapours have dispersed before starting the
generating set.
