Mounting the Locking Knob
(see figure B)
– Screw the locking knob 12 into the corre-
sponding threaded hole below lever 11.
¢ Always tighten the locking knob 12 firmly
before sawing. Otherwise the saw blade can
become wedged in the workpiece.
Inserting the Batteries
(see figure C)
– Open the battery compartment 30.
– Insert the batteries provided according to
the specified polarity.
– Close the battery compartment.
Stationary or Flexible Mounting
¢ To ensure safe handling, the machine must
be mounted on a level and stable surface
(e. g., workbench) prior to using.
Mounting with Base Unit
(see figures D1 – D2)
For mounting, use the base-unit fastening kit 42.
(24 screws with nuts for assembly, 4 screws
with nuts for fastening of the machine, 4 wash-
ers)
– Screw the base unit 41 together. Tighten the
screws firmly.
– Fasten the power tool to the supporting sur-
face of the base unit. For this, use the mount-
ing holes 15 of the power tool as well as the
slots in the base unit.
Mounting without Base Unit
(see figure E)
– Fasten the power tool with suitable screw
fasteners to the working surface. The holes
15 serve for this purpose.

Dust/Chip Extraction

Dusts from materials such as lead-containing
coatings, some wood types, minerals and metal
can be harmful to one's health. Touching or
breathing-in the dusts can cause allergic reac-
tions and/or lead to respiratory infections of the
user or bystanders.
Bosch Power Tools
Certain dusts, such as oak or beech dust, are
considered as carcinogenic, especially in con-
nection with wood-treatment additives (chro-
mate, wood preservative). Materials containing
asbestos may only be worked by specialists.
– Use dust extraction whenever possible.
– Provide for good ventilation of the working
place.
– It is recommended to wear a P2 filter-class
respirator.
Observe the relevant regulations in your country
for the materials to be worked.
Integrated Dust Extraction
(see figure F)
– Mount the dust bag 20 onto the sawdust
ejector 25.
During sawing, the dust bag must never come in-
to contact with the movable machine parts.
Always empty the dust bag in good time.
External Dust Extraction
For dust extraction, a vacuum hose (size
Ø 36 mm) can also be connected to the dust
ejector.
The vacuum cleaner must be suitable for the ma-
terial being worked.
When vacuuming dry dust that is especially det-
rimental to health or carcinogenic, use a special
vacuum cleaner.

Changing the Tool

(see figures G1 – G4)
¢ When mounting the saw blade, wear protec-
tive gloves. Danger of injury when touching
the saw blade.
Use only saw blades whose maximum permitted
speed is higher than the no-load speed of the
power tool.
Use only saw blades that correspond with the
characteristic data given in these operation in-
structions and that are tested and marked in ac-
cordance with EN 847-1.
