Safety information:
The model helicopter X5 is not a toy. To warrant safety and performance, the model must be inspected after every flight.
If you do not have extensive experience in handling model helicopters, have an expert check transmitter programming and
the settings of the model.
Attention!
If the rotor blades are running unbalanced or not on one level, check or replace the rotor blades, rotor shaft and
blade bearing shaft to remove the problem.
Check the mechanics and ball bearings after approx. 100 flights.
Check the mechanics precisely after every hard 3D flight and after every crash. Replace any defective or work parts at once.
If the rotor head speed is too low in hover flight, increase the throttle curve in the medium range and/or reduce the rotor
blade angle of attack using the pitch curve. If the rotor head speed is too high in hover flight, reduce the throttle curve in
this area and/or increase the angle of attack of the rotor blades.
Check the rotor head mechanics incl. all linkage parts and the paddle rod after every crash and after even the lightest
ground contact of the rotor. Replace defective parts before you start again.
After approx. 50 flights, remove the freewheel in the main gear, clean it and install it again freshly oiled.
Check the tail rotor drive at regular intervals.
Troubleshooting
Contact an experienced model helicopter pilot if you cannot solve the problems of your model helicopter on your
own.
The helicopter's tail moves back and forth in hover flight
• Reduce gyro sensitivity.
The helicopter's tail turns sideways all the time
• Switch off the receiver and switch if on again after waiting for some time. Never move the helicopter while the gyro
initialises. Operate the gyro in heading hold (AVCS) mode.
• Check the tail servo lever position (also see page P.14) and the tail rotor linkage.
• Increase the gyro sensitivity at the transmitter.
Incorrect tracking
• Check the linkage and angle of attack of the two rotor blades according to pages P.12 and P.13.
• Adjust the linkage rods so that precise tracking results.
The helicopter shakes in hover flight
• Increase the throttle curve in the middle range to increase the rotor head speed.
• Reduce the pitch curve in the middle range to reduce the angle of attack for hover flight.
The helicopter turns after lifting off.
• Check the tail rotor linkage and the effective direction of the gyro purs. to page P.14.
