REMOVING/INSTALLING THE SEAT
UPHOLSTERY (FIGURE 1)
Removing
1. If necessary, remove the seat cushion from the wheel-
chair.
2. Do one (1) of the following:
A. 16-inch Deep Wheelchairs - Remove the eight
(8) mounting screws and washers that secure
the EXISTING seat upholstery to the crossbraces.
B. 18-inch Deep Wheelchairs - Remove the ten
(10) mounting screws and washers that secure
the EXISTING seat upholstery to the crossbraces.
3. Remove EXISTING seat upholstery from crossbraces.
4. Install NEW/EXISTING seat upholstery. Refer to IN-
STALLING in this procedure of the manual.

NOTE: Patriot SL frame shown ONLY. Patriot uphol-
stery will attach to the crossbraces the same way.

Installing
1. Align the mounting holes of the NEW/EXISTING seat
upholstery to the mounting holes in the crossbraces.
2. Do one (1) of the following:
A. 16-inch Deep Wheelchairs - Install the eight (8)
mounting screws and washers to secure the
NEW/EXISTING seat upholstery to the
crossbraces.
B. 18-inch Deep Wheelchairs - Install the ten (10)
mounting screws and washers to secure the
NEW/EXISTING seat upholstery to the
crossbraces.
3. If necessary, reinstall the seat cushion onto the wheel-
chair.
REMOVING/INSTALLING THE
BACK UPHOLSTERY (FIGURE 2)
Removing
1. Rotate the flip back arms up and out of the way. Refer to
ADJUSTING/USING ARMREST in PROCEDURE
4 of this manual.
2. Cut the tie wraps that secure the back upholstery to
the wheelchair frame.
3. Remove the two (2) mounting screws and washers that
secure the EXISTING back upholstery to the back canes.
4. Do one (1) of the following:
A. Patriot - Remove the one (1) mounting screw
and locknut that secures one (1) back cane to
the wheelchair frame.
B. Patriot SL - Remove the two (2) mounting
screws and locknuts that secure one (1) back
cane to the wheelchair frame.
NOTE: It is necessary to remove only one (1) back cane
to replace the back upholstery.
5. Pull the loose back cane out of the EXISTING back uphol-
stery.
6. Slide the EXISTING back upholstery up and over the
mounted back cane.
7. Install the NEW/EXISTING back upholstery. Refer to
INSTALLING THE BACK UPHOLSTERY in this
procedure of the manual.
