3.1 Assembly – Installation

The fan can tip over and crush limbs during installation!
Note transportation diagram and centre of gravity! Wear protective footwear.
All occupational safety regulations and installation conditions must be observed for assembly and installation!
The smoke extraction fans must be positioned and installed so that inspection, maintenance and repair work can be
carried out easily and safely.
Installation conditions
Suitable for vertical installation
Suitable for horizontal installation
For ventilation mode -20 °C to +60 °C
Outside if it is ensured that precipitation cannot penetrate the smoke extraction fan
Attaching the fan
The mounting holes on the fan or frame are arranged so that uniform loading of the subsurface is ensured.
Conditions:
The foundation is prepared pursuant to Fig. 6.
1. Align fan in a straight line with a spirit level and lining plate.
2. Properly attach the fan or frame to the subsurface at all anchor points using suitable dowels and heavy-duty
anchors.
3. The fan must be installed with vibration dampers, so that there is no vibration transfer!
4. Check screws for tightness and secure them!
Connection of medium-pressure axial fans with accessory parts
– Flexible connectors
Flexible connectors (elastic sleeves) STS.. must be used for the inlet and/or outlet-side connection of smoke exhaust
fans to smoke extraction ducts. When mounting the flexible connectors, it must be ensured that an installation gap of
145 mm is maintained and this prevents tension load or compression load. Do not mount the elastic connectors so that
they are staggered. This will prevent performance reduction and noise generation.
