– The attached commissioning report must be completed and delivered to the plant operator

3.11 Operation

Regularly check the proper functioning of the fan:
– Unhindered running of the impeller
– Check the air gap (see table 3.5)
– Check power consumption
– Check any vibrations and noises
– Formation of dust and dirt in the casing or on the motor and impeller
With regard to the installation of electrical circuit systems, the relevant provisions of the VDE rules shall apply.
– AMD available in special design with inspection opening. Operation only permissible with properly closed inspecti-
on opening.
Check screws and cover for tight fit!

Servicing and maintenance

m DANGER
Before any maintenance or inspection work or before opening the terminal compartment, the unit must be fully
isolated from the power supply and secured against unintended restart!
m Unauthorised fan modifications are not permitted.
– Excessive deposits of dirt, dust, grease and other materials on the impeller, motor and safety grille especially bet-
ween casing and impeller are to be avoided and has to be prevented by periodical cleaning.
– A functional test must be carried out max. six-monthly intervals, and upon recommissioning in case of longer periods
of standstill.
– Maintenance must be carried out once annually, otherwise upon recommissioning.
– Servicing and maintenance work must only be carried out by specialists according to section 1.6.
– Perform maintenance based on maintenance plan in section 7.
– Please check:
• Screw connections, particularly impeller fastening. Without loosening screws!
• Casing-/ impeller surface coating (e.g. rust, paint damage)
• Bearing noises
• Damages
• Vibrations
• Deposits of dirt
• Current consumption
• Function of the safety components
• Motor lubrication/motor bearing
Motors with lubrication nipples must be lubricated according to the information on the motor type plate.
Motors with relubrication devices must be lubricated according to the details on the motor type plate!
Only specified lubricants are permitted!
– The instructions in the maintenance manual of the electric motor manufacturer must be observed!
Maintenance of impeller and casing
a.) Remove impeller (see Fig. 15)
m DANGER
- Disconnect fan from mains voltage.
- Wait for impeller to come to a standstill.
- Protect fan against unauthorised restart!
ò Unscrew impeller mounting screws.
ù Screw the extractor onto the impeller hub with three hexagon head screws.
ä Press impeller off the shaft with hexagon head screw.
ë Remove impeller.
b.) Blade angle (see Fig. 15)
The blade angle may only be changed by the manufacturer.
c.) Install impeller (see Fig. 15)
m DANGER
- Disconnect fan from mains voltage and protect fan against unauthorised restart!
ò Determine direction of running and rotation (see type plate).
ù Push on the impeller.
ä Screw the impeller with hexagon head screw, face plate, toothed washer and washer.
Tightening torque for screws:
The tightening torques are based on the calculation bases in VDI 2230 Oct-2001.
ë The impeller must not grind on the casing when turning by hand (in direction of rotation). Perform inspection and
test run prior to recommissioning.
