AMD – Medium-pressure axial fans
– Extension duct
When installing in duct sections, it must be ensured that there is a sufficiently long straight duct section 2.5 x D before
and after the fan (e.g. with extension duct VR...), as otherwise significant performance reductions and noise generation
can be expected.
– Vibration dampers
In order to prevent the transmission of vibrations, the use of vibration dampers SDD and SDZ is recommended. The
arrangement of silencers, mounting brackets and vibration dampers can be seen in Fig. 7-10.
– Duct silencer

must be mounted at the inlet, and the outlet-side silencer on the outlet together with the flexible connectors.
– Duct shutter
Automatic duct shutter RVS.. with spring return:
Horizontal installation possible in any direction, vertical installation possible with upward flow.

3.2 Fan installation outside
Helios medium-pressure axial fans of type AMD are suitable for use outside under normal weather conditions in ins-
tallation arrangements for horizontal or vertical air flow directions. The penetration of precipitation into the fan must be
prevented.
With regard to the insulation of fans which are installed outside, it must be ensured that no precipitation can penetrate
into the insulation (e.g. weather protection cover).
