3 .1 Assembly – Installation

The fan can tip over and crush limbs during installation!
Note transportation diagram and centre of gravity! Wear protective footwear .
All occupational safety regulations, installation conditions and declarations of performance (DIBt technical approval)
must be observed for assembly and installation!
The smoke exhaust fans must be positioned and installed so that inspection, maintenance and repair work can be
carried out easily and safely.
Installation conditions
VA: Suitable for "vertical installation"
HA: Suitable for "horizontal installation"
LB: For "Ventilation mode" -20 °C to +40 °C
IB: Can be installed in "Fire area"
Fan without insulating layer, the cooling air duct must be insulated inside the smoke extraction area with
L120 DIN 4102-4
AB (WG): "Outside the fire area, thermally insulated"
In sufficiently ventilated rooms, fan with insulating layer F300 L60 or F400 and F600 L120 according to
DIN 4102-4
IF: "Outside" fan without insulating layer if it is ensured that precipitation cannot penetrate the smoke exhaust
fan
ZB: "Forced ventilation" via cooling air duct Inlet temperature of cooling air in the motor casing max. 40 °C,
not minimum cooling air (mounting accessories: centrif. cooling air fan, weather protection cover on-site).
Connection of smoke extraction ducts with mounting accessories:
– Flexible connectors
Flexible connectors (elastic sleeves) STSB... F400 or F600 must be used for the intake and/or outlet-side connection
of smoke exhaust fans to smoke extraction ducts. When mounting the flexible connectors, it must be ensured that the
installation gap 145 mm is maintained and this prevents tension load or compression load. Do not mount the elastic
connectors so that they are staggered. This will prevent performance reduction and noise generation.
– Extension duct
When installing in duct sections, it must be ensured that there is a sufficiently long straight duct section 2.5 x D before
and after the fan (e.g. with extension duct VR...), as otherwise significant performance reductions and noise generation
can be expected.
– Vibration dampers
In order to prevent the transmission of vibrations, the use of steel spring/vibration dampers SDD 1F 4-10 and SDZ 1F
4-9 is recommended. The arrangement of attenuators, mounting brackets and vibration dampers can be seen in Fig.
6 to 9 and also Fig. 17h.
