WARNING!
General hazardous situations.
To prevent injury, ensure that:
▶ The system cannot be activated unintentionally.
▶ Installation and repair work may be carried out by authorised
technicians only and with the appropriate tools. Use original
spare parts only.
▶ After an interruption in the power supply or pneumatic supply,
ensure that the process is restarted in a defined or controlled
manner.
To prevent damage to property of the device, ensure:
▶ When screwing in or unscrewing the electrical position feedback,
never use the cable plug as a lever, but grip the screw-in base of
the position feedback.
The actuators and accessory parts were developed having
regard to recognized safety engineering regulations and
represent the state of the art.
However, risks may arise. Only operate the device in impec-
cable condition and while observing the operating instruc-
tions.
Pay attention to the working instructions, their sequence and
to safety information and safety labelling when installing the
respective components.

3.1 Type-specific safety and warning
instructions
3.1.1 Safety Instructions for actuators
175 and 225 (Ø in mm)
WARNING!
Risk of injury and functional failure due to derailed or slipped
parts.
The actuators contain pre-tensioned springs that may derail or slip
on improper opening.
▶ Actuators Ø 175 mm and 225 mm shall only be opened in our
factory or by the responsible distributor.
3.1.2 Note for actuators
50, 63, 80, 100, 125 (Ø in mm)
NOTE!
Damage to the actuators due to incorrect tool.
• Only tools specifically provided by Bürkert for the purpose must
be used to screw down the actuator cover (see chapter "12
Assembly accessories").
3.1.3 Note for actuators DN80 125 (Ø in mm)
NOTE!
For the DN80 Ø 125 actuator version, operation with max.
stroke limitation, min./max. stroke limitation and hand wheel is not
permitted.
