BURNER FLAME

Monitor the burner flame to see if it shuts down prior to the
material reaching the set temperature. This phenomenon is not
uncommon. This occurs due to the fact that the sensing probe
is installed on the bottom of the tank screen. The temperature
is higher than the material temperature, especially during
startup. Adjust the thermostat higher to compensate for this
deviation.
Note that under this circumstance, the burner may not cycle
down at the proper temperture. When the desired material
temperature is achieved, readjust the thermostat until the
burner flame goes out. No further adjustment of the thermostat
should be required.

LIGHTING THE RE-VERBER-RAY BURNERS

The re-verber-ray burners can also be lit without the aid of
the pilot flame. This procedure can be used if the pilot is not
working and needs to be replaced.
Heat-resistant gloves MUST be worn for this
operation since back-flashes are commonly
associated with lighting the burners.
The gas line feeding the re-verber-ray burner
i
system is equipped with one 1/4" gas cock valve.
The valve in line is a standard LPG shut off valve.
In the ON position, with the wing parallel to the
fuel line, the standard LPG valve allows for full
gas flow.
1. Turn the gas cock valves so that the wing is parallel with
the fuel line. Valve is now open.
2. Immediately attempt to light the re-verber-ray burners
with a small hand torch or a long-stem lighter. Be cautious
of flashes.
After lighting the re-verber-ray burner it may
i
take several minutes for the face of the burner to
glow red.
