12. Once the cords are attached, pull and lock them in
the retaining cleats (A) on the lift. (See Fig. 10 )
13. Pull the cords so that any slack is taken up by each
cord and the back section supports the patient
comfortably and securely. (See Fig. 11 )
14. Ask the patient to hold on to the hand grips with
their arms resting on the Sara Plus Arc-Rest. See
the Sara Plus IFU. If the patient is too far from
the hand grips, adjust the patient's position by
choosing relevant loop combination, see step 11.

Apply the Walking and Standing Sling

In Chair/Wheelchair (24 steps)

(Only applies to sling KKA5130M)
For transfer/transport refer to Sara Plus IFU.
1. Place the Sara Plus lift nearby.
2. Apply the brakes on the wheelchair, if any.
3. Lean the patient forward and place the sling around
the lower back of the patient.
4. Make sure that:
the bottom edge of the sling is levelled with the
base of the spine (coccyx),
the patient's arms are outside of the sling,
each leg fl ap is placed under the patient's thigh
and connected with the support belts and
no pieces are twisted under the patient's legs
and back.
5. Fasten the support belt securely, by pressing the
hook and loop together. The strap should be tight,
but comfortable for the patient. (See Fig. 12 )
6. Pull the leg fl ap under the patient's legs.

7. Only for patient's up to 190 kg (420 lbs): Connect

15. Slightly lift the patient up to create some tension.
See the Sara Plus IFU.
16. Make sure the sling is attached correctly and the
cords are locked. If an adjustment is needed, lower
the patient and make sure that the weight of the
patient is taken up by the receiving surface before
removing the clip/cord.
17. Ask the patient to assist during the lifting exercise.
each leg buckle on the leg fl ap to the corresponding
body buckle. (See Fig. 14 )
8. Position the Sara Plus in front of the patient with
the front leg support just below the patient's knees.
Open up the chassis legs if needed. See the Sara
Plus IFU.
9. Apply the brakes on the Sara Plus.
10. Place the patient's feet on the Sara Plus foot
support.
11. Lower the Sara Plus Arc-Rest as low as possible,
allowing for obstructions e.g chair arms. See the
Sara Plus IFU.
For patient's up to 140 kg (308 lbs): Attach
each cord opposite from the patient, through
the sling attachment loops on the leg fl aps
(See Fig. 15 )
For patient's up to 190 kg (420 lbs): Attach
each cord opposite from the patient, through
the sling attachment loops on the mid section.
