1. [ROTARY SPEAKER] connector.
11-pin connector for the connection of an external speaker. This output transmits the signal generated by
drawbars, equalizer, Vibrato or Chorus effects, Reverb when set as PRE (see point 10 of par.3.2) and
Drive.
Furthermore, through this connector, using the rotating speaker control (see point 21 of par.3.2) you can
select the speed (FAST or SLOW) of the speakers' rotation, or stop the engine (BRAKE position).
2. [AUDIO] jack connectors.
- [PHONES]: stereo output for connecting a set of headphones. The port sends out the instrument's
general signal.
- [LEFT] and [RIGHT]: line outputs; use to connect the instrument to external audio devices (amplified
speakers, mixers, amplifiers); they transmit the instrument's general signal.
When used with stereo systems, connect the [LEFT] output to the left channel and the [RIGHT] output to
the right channel. When using a monophonic system, any of the two outputs ([LEFT] or [RIGHT]) can be
connected indistinctly; however, doing so will make it impossible to hear the stereophonic effect
generated by the Rotary simulation: it is only possible to hear the connected audio channel. Therefore
this is not recommended.
- [PEDALS]: line output. When the led of the [PEDALS DIRECT] button is turned on (see point 16 of
Section 3.2), it only transmits the signal of the pedalboard drawbars.
WARNINGS ON THE USE OF SPEAKERS
-
The [ROTARY SPEAKER] on Legend / Legend Live should only be connected to a rotating speaker equipped
with a cable with the following pinout:
1: Audio +
4: Audio GND
5 - 6: common of speed switch
7: Fast
8: Slow
If the connector has a diferent setup, an adapter should be used.
-
Always perform the connection while both instrument and speakers are switched off. Then first switch on the
instrument and later the speakers.
-
The use of balanced cables is recommended for connecting the [LEFT], [RIGHT], [PEDALS] and [FX SEND]
outputs.
- [FX SEND]: line output (output impedance: 680 Ω, signal level: 9 Vpp), it only transmits the drawbars'
signal (and Vibrato or Chorus if enabled) so as to process the signal with external effects. The signal
from this output is not controlled by the potentiometer [VOLUME] (see point 1 of par. 3.2).
- [FX RETURN]: line input (input impedance: 32,4 KΩ, maximum input signal level: 11,2 Vpp), it receives
the signal from an external effect processor connected to the [FX SEND] port (se previous point). This
signal is then modified by the equalizer and the internal effects Reverb, Drive and Rotary of the Legend
/ Legend Classic / Legend Live, then sent to the outputs [LEFT], [RIGHT], [ROTARY SPEAKER] and
[PHONES] (also on the front).
NB
-
When plugging a jack to the [FX RETURN] connector, the internal sound generation is disconnected from the
[LEFT], [RIGHT], [ROTARY SPEAKER] and [PHONES] (also on the front) outputs; the signal sent to these outputs
is that of [FX RETURN].
-
It is possible to select whether to send the upper and lower manual or only the upper manual to the [FX SEND]
output. For more information see par. 6.8.
