MAINTENANCE AND TROUBLESHOOTING
ROUTINE MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING:
Routine maintenance consists of normal cleaning operations to be carried out when
required.
Before starting to clean the lamp, you must unplug it from the power supply mains.
To avoid the risk of an electric shock, remove the battery from the hand piece.
• Do not touch the electrical contacts of the charging station or the hand piece with
metal or greasy parts.
• Do not use non‐original charging devices; they could damage the accumulator cells.
• Do not immerse the hand piece in water or any other liquid.
Clean the seat of the light guide gently and carefully using only a soft dry cloth.
Do not insert objects or materials in the seat of the light guide because they may
damage the LED.
CLEANING THE LIGHT GUIDE:
• Clean the optical fibre regularly with a soft cloth. Remove the patina from the
ends, in particular before and after steam sterilization.
• Remove the polymerized compounds with alcohol and, if necessary, use a plastic
spatula. To avoid scratching the surface, do not use sharp or pointed objects.
Before inserting the light guide, make sure the ferrule and its end are perfectly clean
and dry.
Immediately replace the optical fibre if, upon visual examination, it is found to be
scratched or damaged since the light intensity will be greatly reduced.
CLEANING THE CHARGING STAND AND THE HAND PIECE:
• To disinfect all parts of the instrument, spray disinfectant on a cloth and wipe it
over the instrument. Do not allow the disinfectant to seep into the instrument.
• Wipe the handpiece and charger with a standard aldehyde‐free disinfecting
solution. Do not clean with highly aggressive solutions (e.g. solutions containing
orange oil or solutions with and ethanol content of more than 50%), solvents (e.g.
acetone), or pointed instruments, which damage or scratch the plastic.
• WARNING! Abrasive or harsh solvents or detergents should never be used, since
these substances damage surfaces.
