Special maintenance work

Check for leaks again after servicing and/or replacing parts.
We recommend that all repairs be conducted by Dräger.
5.7.1
Replacing gloves
WARNING
!
Do not use talcum for fitting the gloves. Otherwise the
gloves may slip out if the user exerts too much
pressure on the glove from inside by stretching too
much.
If the chemical protective suit is equipped with a
Silvershield glove combination, the glove combination
must be removed, disposed of and replaced with a
new glove combination. No assurance has been made
that the material will be able to withstand repeated
chemical exposure.
Combination 1 - Viton/Butyl and if fitted Tricotril
1. Take off the Tricotril glove (if fitted).
2. Lift the edge of the rubber flap with your fingertips. Push the
support ring with the Viton/Butyl glove out of the sleeve
with the ball of your hand.
3. Pull the Viton/Butyl glove off the support ring and the arm
cuff (if fitted).
4. Fit a new Viton/Butyl glove on the support ring and arm cuff

upper edge of the support ring.
5. Push the glove with the support ring and arm cuff (if fitted)
through the opened fastener system and into the sleeve of
the chemical protective suit.

the right glove in the right sleeve. The palm of the glove
combination points towards the seam of the sleeve. The
long axis of the elliptical support ring is parallel to the palm
of the glove.
7. Reach into the sleeve and press the glove with the support
ring and arm cuff (if fitted) into the rubber flap until the
bottom edge of the support ring rests against the edge of
the rubber flap.
8. Put on the Tricotril glove (if applicable): pull the overglove
