i) Construction of the Elevator Rudder
Cut both the elevator rudders (1) from the wing fixed portion (2) in the same
manner as for the aileron.
Once again you need to ensure that the front edges of the rudders are smooth
and sanded appropriately (see sketch).
Once you have glued the four hinges (3) into the fixed portion, place the two
elevator rudders on the hinges without glue and set them to the exact correct
position.
Now you can mark the holes to be drilled for the (4) elevator rudder bracket.
Ensure once again when pre-drilling, that the holes are exactly
positioned as otherwise the rudder blades will be crooked.
After testing placement again, you can glue the blades solidly to the fixed
portion.
Be sure to maintain as small as possible the gap (5) between the rudder
blade and the fixed portion.
