4.14 Shear pins
Caution!
Do not replace the shear pins with anything
other than identical shear pins from the manufacturer.
The auger is mounted on the spiral shaft with two shear pins
and cotters. The shear pins can break off if the auger hits ice
or a solid object.

If the auger does not rotate, do a check whether the
shear pins have sheared off.
Note! Two extra shear pins are included.

Apply lubricant in the shaft before fitting the new
shear pins.

Maintenance
Warning! Stop the product before maintenance, ser-
vice or repair is done on the product.
lead and earth it against the engine to prevent unintentional
start.
Note! Frequency of maintenance should increase when the
product is used more often.
● Use only original spare parts when you replace parts that
are applicable for safety.
● Do not modify the safety devices in any way. Regularly do
a check so that all safety devices are in place and are
working correctly.
● Let an authorized service center do service to the
product.
● Do not change the speed governor setting and do not
over rev the engine. The speed governor controls the
maximum permitted engine speed.
● Make sure that all screw unions are correctly tightened at
regular intervals. Retighten if necessary.
● Check the product for damage at regular intervals.
● The blade scraper and skid shoes wear out in time. Do a
check of all components regularly and replace if
necessary.
● Regularly do a check so that all the control levers can be
moved in both directions and automatically return to the
neutral position when released. Adjust, if necessary, refer
to "5.1 To check the function of the drive and the gear
lever" on page 18.
● The safety and warning labels on the tool must be intact
and legible. Replace them if necessary.

Loosen the spark plug
● Make sure you follow all the applicable laws and
regulations regarding how to handle fuel, oil and other
materials
● Before you store the product, let it operate for a few
minutes to feed out all the snow. Otherwise the snow can
freeze to ice and lock the auger.
● Follow the instructions how to store the fuel. Refer to "7
Storage" on page 23.
5.1 To check the function of the drive
and the gear lever
Do a check the function of the drive lever and gear lever in
accordance with the instructions below:

Stop the product and put the gear lever in the
position for the highest forward gear.

Release the drive lever and push the product forward.
The product must roll forward.

Push the drive lever and the wheels stops. Release
the drive lever and push the product rolls forwards
again.

Move the gear lever to the position for the highest
reverse gear and move it back to the position for the
highest forward gear again.
Note! The gear lever should move easily and the wheels
starts to roll.

If the gear lever is stiff or if the wheels stop to move;
loosen the lock nut on the drive lever wire and
shorten the wire one turn of the nut.

If the wheels do not stop to roll when the drive lever
is released; Loosen the lock nut on the drive lever
wire and extend the wire one turn of the nut.

Repeat this check and readjust, if necessary. Tighten
the lock nut when the adjusment is done.
5.2 To clear the ejector
Warning! Do not clear the ejector when the engine
operates.
Warning! Do not attempt to clear the ejector with
your hands! Use the clearing tool or a stick.
The clearing tool hangs on the handle. (Figure 10)
