11. Servicing
Items required:
> EN 973 quality recharging salt up to 15 kg for an 8L and up to 50 kg maximum for other models
> Water hardness testers
> A cleaning product for the water softener
WHEN IS SERVICING REQUIRED ?
The maintenance of a softener is done on a regular and periodic basis, in order to provide it with a
sufficient supply of salt for its operation, to prevent bacterial infection of the softened water as well as
to ensure proper long-term operation of the water softener throughout its life cycle.
If the softener is not used for a period of more than 10 days, cleaning with a suitable product will be
required.
PARTS TO SERVICE
The salt tank: more than maintenance, it is a question of checking whether the reserve of salt is sufficient
for the proper functioning of the softener.
The resin canister: it can be subject to bacterial proliferation that is harmful to the activity of the resins
and dangerous for consumption.
The recharge programmer: the clock setting must be checked.
SERVICING ACTIONS
Every 3 months, check the salt reserve (which must be at least 1/3 of the height of the tank). You should
never see the water (the brine) above the salt. Also check the setting of the clock, the hardness of the
water leaving the device, which must be between 7º and 12º f.
Every 6 months, check the clogging of the filter and change the cartridge if necessary.
Every 6 months or in the event of prolonged non-use, simply pour a dose of sanitizer cleaner into the
softener; a manual regeneration must then be launched before the appliance is put back into service.

NB: Take advantage of this regeneration to check the tightness of all the connections. Intervene by
tightening them if necessary. In the event of excessive leaks, do not hesitate to close the general water
supply.
Every year, carry out a complete maintenance of the softener.
