Enable the Output
SHOCK HAZARD, LETHAL VOLTAGES - Many models generate output voltages up
to 2,000 VDC! Ensure that all instrument connections, load wiring, load and sense
connections are insulated using high-voltage wire. Always attach the safety cover
provided, so that no accidental contact with lethal voltages can occur.
When the unit is first turned on, it may take about 30 seconds or so to initialize the
instrument before it is ready for use.
Set the Output Priority Mode
Select either voltage priority, current priority, power priority, or SAS operating mode. Refer to
Mode Operation for more information.
Voltage priority - this mode keeps the output voltage constant. The output voltage remains at its
programmed setting, provided the load current remains within the + or - current limit setting.
Current priority - this mode keeps the output current constant. The output current remains at its
programmed setting, provided the load voltage remains within the voltage limit setting.
Power priority - this mode keeps the output power constant. The output power remains at its
programmed setting, provided the load voltage and current remain within their limit settings.
SAS mode - selects solar array simulator operation. Refer to
Front Panel Menu Reference
Select Output\Mode.
Select Voltage, Power, or Current priority. Then press Select.
When switching between modes, the output is turned off and the output settings
revert to their power-on or RST values.
