7. Tighten the cable strain relief so that the cable is held securely.
8. Install the bottom cover so that the enclosure is sealed.
Notes:
• The analog outputs are isolated from the other electronics, but are not isolated from each
other.
• The analog outputs are self-powered. Do not connect to a load with voltage that is
independently applied.
• The analog outputs cannot be used to supply power to a 2-wire (loop-powered) transmitter.

Fire hazard. Relay loads must be resistive. Always limit current to the relays with an external fuse or
breaker. Obey the relay ratings in the Specifications section.
Refer to
Specifications
on page 3 for wire gauge requirements for relay connections. The application will
determine the wire gauge needed. Wire gauge less than 18 AWG is not recommended.
Figure 9
shows the relay, output power and data logging connections. Use the relay connection to
transmit the status of the analyzer to an external device—flow-proportional or alarm based on flow,
level, velocity or surcharge level, temperature, battery voltage, each sample, bad sample or analog
input. Set the contact closure duration (2 seconds maximum). Use the output power connection to
supply 12 VDC to external devices. Use the data logging connection to record an analog output (0 to
+5 VDC) from an external device.
Note: The Flo-Ware software can be used to configure the relay for an alarm or to set the flow pace of a sampler.
1. Remove the main power to the instrument.
2. Remove the bottom cover. Refer to
3. Put the cable through the strain relief fitting near the CP2 terminal blocks.
4. Remove approximately 6 mm (¼ in.) of insulation from each wire.
5. Install each wire in the terminal block.
6. Tighten each wire connection so that the wires are held securely.
7. Tighten the cable strain relief so that the cable is held securely.
8. Install the bottom cover so that the enclosure is sealed.
