8.6 Line AGC – control of the video amplifier
In case of poor illumination, the video signal gets
weaker. With the automatic gain control (AGC)
switched on, the signal is amplified accordingly (up
to 18 dB) so that the light sensitivity is increased.
With the menu item "AGC" selected, the automatic
gain control is switched ON or OFF with the keys
(2) and
(5).
When the light is reduced, the camera will open
the iris first before the gain is increased, as an in-
creased gain will result in an increased noise.

8.7 Line W/B SELECT – white balance
This menu item is also available on the black-and-
white camera TVCCD-700 but it is without function.
Different light sources, e. g. incandescent lamps,
fluorescent lamps, or the sun have light of different
colour (colour temperature). For obtaining a natural
colour representation, the camera can be matched
accordingly. Via the menu item "W/B SELECT"
(W/B = white balance), three methods are available
(3)
by means of the keys
1. "ATW" – Automatic white balance
2. "AWC" – Semi-automatic white balance just once.
For this purpose, hold a white sheet of paper in
front of the camera in the environment where the
camera is operated and press the middle key
(3). The letters "AWC" will flash for approx. 4 s
and the value is stored as a reference.
3. "MANU..." – By pressing the middle key
submenu for manual white balance is called. Via
the function "PRESET", a preset value for the
colour temperature of 2300 °K (approximately
corresponds to the colour temperature of artificial
light between incandescent lamp and fluorescent
lamp) or 5600 °K (approximately corresponds to
the colour temperature of midday sunlight) can be
selected. If "OFF (USER)" is selected at "PRE-
SET", the red contribution and the blue contribu-
