Iris control for a corresponding lens is made auto-
matically but can be manually optimized in a certain
range with the adjustment "IRIS".
With the WDR function switched off (WDR =
OFF), the anti-smearing function is automatically ac-
tivated. Thus, a smearing effect occurring in case of
peak lights, e. g. car headlights in a dark environ-
ment, is suppressed. Similar to the WDR function,
two pictures taken at different exposure are combi-
ned to a smear-free picture.
Via the function "W W/B" the DUAL white bal-
ance can be switched ON or OFF. If an automatic
white balance is selected (see line W/B SELECT),
the white balance for darker and brighter zones is
made separately with function "W W/B" is switched
on. With different illuminations in a surveillance
area, this will result in more natural colours.
The function "W W/B" is without effect for the
black-and-white camera TVCCD-700.

8.5 Line BACK LIGHT – backlight compensation
Via this menu item, the backlight compensation (BLC)
can be switched ON or OFF. It serves for purposeful
brightening of objects to be monitored in backlight
which would otherwise be reproduced too dark and
poor in contrast by the brightness control. For this
purpose, the picture is divided into 48 zones for which
brightening can be defined individually. If "ON..." was
selected, press the middle key
