After-run Time of the Suction Turbine (see Fig. E at the start of this manual)
After-run time = The period of time between switching a connected device off and the closing of the corre-
sponding suction channel (= pinch valve).
EN
A distinction is made between three after-run times, which can be set independently of one another
(factory setting: 3 seconds):
• After-run time suction channel A  only suction channel A is open:
Time, until the pinch valve of suction channel A closes and the suction turbine switches off.
• After-run time suction channel B  only suction channel B is open:
Time, until the pinch valve of suction channel B closes and the suction turbine switches off.
• After-run time suction channel A and B  both suction channels, A AND B, are open:
Time, until the pinch valve of a suction channel closes and the suction performance for the other suction
channel is adjusted.
In order to prevent the suction from being switched on / off too often, or the suction performance
to be adjusted too frequently in the case of short interruptions (for example when working with
the handpiece), a higher time value should be selected.
The setting after-run time can be exited at any time before or after saving the entered value via the Menu
key (20).
Operation with the SILENT flow sensor
If the extraction unit is operated in combination with a flow rate monitoring unit such as the SILENT flow
sensor, the following must be observed:
► If the flow rate is less than the defined threshold value for a certain period, this is detected by the
SILENT flow sensor, the corresponding indicator begins to flash, and a warning tone is output
every 30 seconds.
If the flow rate is too low at the suction point being monitored, safe operation is no longer guaran-
teed and the level of exposure to dust can be harmful to health!
In this case, the following measures must be taken:
⇒ Stop working at all suction points of the affected extraction unit. This applies to the individual suction
channels of any multi-workbench extraction unit as well as to all suction points operated via a Y-junction
or via extractor switches.
⇒ Determine why the flow rate is too low and resolve the issue.
Suction level is too low
Filter blockage
Cleaning the filter does not result in the expected
improvement.
Blockage in the suction point (suction mouth)
Blockage in the suction line
Leakage in the section of the suction line between
the SILENT flow sensor and the extraction unit.
Determining the cause and measures can be carried out in the order shown.
After every measure, you should switch on the extraction unit again and check whether the minimum flow
rate is again exceeded so that correct operation is possible again.
⇒ Work should only resume after the fault has been rectified and the minimum flow rate is exceeded
again.

Measure
• Choose a higher suction level
• Clean the filter.
• Replace the fine filter.
• For a dust-free replacement of the fine filter, please
refer to chap. Changing fine filters.
• Disconnect the suction hose at the suction point and
check whether there is a blockage in the suction point;
remove where appropriate.
• Check the suction line at all disconnection points / ser-
vice openings section by section for blockages.
• Check the installation of the SILENT flow sensor in
accordance with its instructions.
