Electrical connection
Evaluation contacts
The lock has a switched output, which can be used to indicate the open position and provide feedback for
electric door drive units when motorised opening is employed.
Closed-circuit current or operating current
At the factory, the lock is set to use the operating current principle: the lock is locked when in a de-ener-
gised state. In connection with the evaluation control system or the buffer condenser, the lock can also be
operated on the closed-circuit principle.
Routing and connecting cables
The connection cable must be routed from the lock side to the hinge side in the door leaf . The cable must
then be routed from the door leaf to the door frame.
1
Route the connection cable in accordance with the following instructions:
· ASSA ABLOY (Schweiz) AG recommends routing the cable inside the door leaf in a suitable conduit
with an inside diameter of at least 6 mm.
· Do not kink the conduit and make any required bends as wide as possible.
· To avoid damaging the cable, only route the cable around rounded corners.
· Install a flexible cable transition for the transition from door leaf to frame. Connect the cable transi-
tion firmly to the door leaf and frame on both sides (for connection information, refer to the cable
transition instructions).
2
Connect the lock in accordance with connection diagram (Fig. 10) or (Fig. 11) and with the instruc-
tions for the evaluation control system.
3
Check that the following electrical data of the lock and the power supply correspond:
· The power supply unit must have the appropriate power output (at 24 V DC, 350 mA, 1 s maximum
pulse length of the starting current).
· As the power from the power supply unit is transported directly to the lock or to the evaluation
control system, the output power of the controlling device is of no importance (controlled by an
isolated contact).
· Always consider voltage losses via the connection cable to ensure that the lock works reliably.
