WOOD OPERATION (green led wood func-
tion with power/led off, wood function without
power.)
When using wood, the draught is natural.
When the door is opened during operation, a by-pass valve
connects the combustion chamber directly to the fl ue to prevent
fumes from coming out of the door.
Lighting can be performed in the following manner:
- MANUAL LIGHTING = lighting the wood with a fi relighter
and closing the door
- AUTOMATIC LIGHTING = using the remote control and
pressing key "A" for 2 seconds starts the pellet lighting-phase,
which allows wood burning.
The primary combustion air enters just above the fi re surface
meeting the free surface of the embers.
The post-combustion air enters the combustion chamber
through the holes located inside the combustion chamber.
The air coming out of the holes hits the fume fl ow and triggers
a second combustion process that burns the unburned fuel and
the carbon monoxide:
this process is called post-combustion.
Combustion air valve
The combustion air is adjusted with a valve whose control is
located on the top (C - Fig. 2).

NOTE regarding the fuel: wood
The stove must be fuelled with wood, preferably well-seaso-
ned beech/birch; the quantity of wood required is specifi ed in
the technical table on page 32 (20-25 cm in length). Each type
of wood has different characteristics that also affect the com-
bustion yield. The stove's nominal yield declared in kW can be
obtained by burning the right amount of wood (specifi ed in the
table on page 32).
Fuel and heating power
Combustion has been optimised from a technical point of view
both with regards to the design of the hearth and its air supply as
well as in terms of emissions. Please support our commitment
to a clean environment by observing the directions listed below
regarding the use of combustible materials that do not contain
and do not produce harmful substances. As far as fuel, use only
natural and seasoned wood or wood briquettes.

NOTE:
AT the end of loading wood, the customer can decide to
continue using wood or automatically switch to pellets.
Press the O/I button on the remote control. The display
reads "AUTO WOOD", if the wood is already lit in the
combustion chamber, or a pellet ignition phase is started
that will automatically switch to wood burning as soon as
combustion has started.
Wet or fresh cut wood or wood stored improperly present a
high water content and therefore do not burn properly, create
smoke and produce little heat. Only use fi rewood which has
been seasoned for a minimum of year two years in a ventila-
ted and dry environment. In this case, water content will be
below 20% of the weight. This way you will save in terms of
combustible material, as the seasoned wood has a much higher
calorifi c value. Never use liquid fuels such as gasoline, alcohol
or similar. Do not burn waste.
Note:
Seasoned wood has a calorifi c value of approximately 4 kWh/
kg, while fresh cut wood has a calorifi c value of only 2 kWh/
kg. Therefore, to achieve the same calorifi c value you would
have to use double the fuel.
