5.2- Before starting engine
• The machine is equipped with a 2-stroke air cooled gasoline engine that requires a mixture
of gasoline and oil. The recommended gasoline/oil mixing ratio is 25:1.
• Gasoline: either lead or unlead, alcohol-free.
• Motor oil: quality proven 2-stroke motor oil.
Fuelling
• Transfer approximate 23mL of motor oil into the provided mixing bottle.
• Transfer gasoline into the mixing bottle until the level mark of 600mL.
• Replace the bottle cap and mix well the fuel/oil mixture.
• Remove the fuel tank cap (7) and completely transfer the fuel mixture into the fuel tank
(10) with aid of a funnel.
• Wipe any spilled gasoline with a damp cloth.
• Replace the fuel tank cap.
WARNING!
Turn off and cool down the engine before removing the fuel tank cap.
WARNING!
Gasoline is an extremely flammable. Keep clear of open flames. Do not spill any
fuel. Do not smoke.
WARNING!
Always mix and refuel in a well ventillated area.
5.3- Start/Stop the engine
Cold starting the engine
• Check the fuel level in the fuel tank (10).
• Rest the machine on a flat and solid ground. Keep the tool head off the ground and clear
surrounding objects.
• Press the primer pump until the fuel runs out of the clear tube. (Fig. 6a)
• Set the choke to "CLOSE" position. (Fig. 6b)
• Set the power switch (14) to the "ON" position and press the throttle lock (16). (Fig. 6c)
• Firmly grip the handle (3) with one hand, then grip the starter handle (9) and slowly pull until
resistance is felt, then pull straight out rapidly.
• Allow the rope to rewind slowly and if necessary, repeat this procedure until the engine starts.
• When the engine is started, set the choke to "OPEN" position gradually.
