General notes

These operating instructions form part of the scope of
supply. They must be kept within easy reach and
accompany the tool if it is resold later.
We reserve the right to make changes to the models
described in these Operating Instructions as a result
of further technical development.
Reprints, translations and duplication in any form
whatsoever, even by way of extracts, prohibited
without the written consent of the publisher.
Important note
Failure to comply with these Operating Instructions
may cause personal injury and machine failure.
The Operating Instructions, in particular the safety
provisions, must be read and applied by every person
who works with the tools.
The employer is under an obligation to make the
information contained in these Operating Instructions
available to the operator.

Responsibility of the operator

The operator must comply with the applicable
National
Accident
Prevention
Technical Rules.
The operator may only allow the tool to be used by
trained and reliable personnel.
The operator must make sure that the user has read
and understood the Operating Instructions before
using the machine.
The operator must make sure that no unauthorised
person is able to gain access to the machine.
The operator must comply with the in-house
instructions on protection of employees.

Use for the intended purpose

The BIAX scraper is an electronically variable hand-
held tool for faster, easier and better scraping.
The BIAX precision scraper is used to remove
stubborn material residues from various kinds of
materials and to treat surfaces. In some cases the
scraper may also be used to remove paint or with a
buffing block to smooth or polish surfaces.
Any use of the BIAX scraper other than in the
areas of application referred to above and
modifications to the machine without the consent
of Schmid & Wezel are prohibited. If this rule is
disregarded
we
decline
consequential damage.
The scraper may only be used in dry rooms
(protection type: IP20); not on humid, wet or dusty
premises.
When the scraper is not in use it must be kept in a dry
place in the storage case provided.

Safety instructions

Depending on the type of machining,

exceeded. Wear ear protection!
If dust is generated, always wear a
respiratory protector and switch the

workplace on!
Sparks or shavings may injure the
eyes during scraping work. Always
wear protective goggles when at
work!
The tools are sharp. Make sure not to
injure yourself. To prevent injury to
your hands, always wear industrial
gloves

scraper!

arms and hand. Very severe and
protracted
damage to the nervous system and
blood vessels!
