4.6.
Placing the imitation logd and ashes
4.6.1. Positioning of the burner
If it has not yet been done, first remove the box
containing the imitation logs from the combus-
tion chamber.
Watch out!! The logs are fragile. Handle them
carefully.
Check that the burner is correctly positioned and
has not shifted during transport. The burner
sits loose on the bottom of the combustion chamber, sup-
ported at the back by the injector housing, and on the left and right at the front by
the mounts on two appropriate legs. See figure for correct positioning.
3.6.2. Placing the logs and ashes
The complete set of imitation logs consists of 6 logs and a small bag of ashes.
The logs must be positioned on the
burner as shown in the figure below.
The positioning of the logs will be obv i-
ous because of the positioning pins on
the burner and on the logs.
1. First, place log no. 1 at the back on
the supporting plate above the
burner so that it fits correctly on the
positioning pins.
2. Then place logs 2 and 3 to the left
and right on the burner.
3. Place log 4 at the front, to the right
on the burner and to the left on log
2.
4. Spread the ashes over the whole
surface of the burner. Take care
that the ashes are evenly distrib-
uted, covering the complete sur-
face.
5. Place logs 5 and 6 as shown in the
figure above. Take care that they
are fitted correctly to the position-
ing pins on log 1.
Note. The way in which the ashes are
spread over the burner surface helps
determine the appearance of the
flames.
In certain cases it may be
necessary to adjust the distribution
of the ashes slightly by, e.g., partially
uncovering a few of the burner open-
ings in order to obtain a more even
flame appearance.
