Operating the fan

The built-in fan will automatically switch on as soon as the temperature inside the
appliance begins to increase. When the appliance is switched off, the fan will keep
spinning until all the heat inside the appliance has been removed.
The selection switch (to the right on the back of the bottom panel) enables the user
to select a high or a low speed.
At position II, the fan operates on full power, ideal
for heating up a room quickly.
At position I – the 'comfort position' – the fan works
at a lower speed, but still with a minimum level of
noise. Position I should be selected for normal heat-
ing.
By holding the push button pressed down, the fans
can already be checked before the appliance warms
up.

Maintenance

Enamelled surfaces can be cleaned, only when cold, with a moist, soft cloth. Painted
surfaces can be cleaned with a soft brush or proprietary stove polish. Never clean
the unit while hot.
Minor paint damage can be touched up with spray paint and enamelled surface
damage can be touched up with coloured repair kits. Both products are available
from your Dovre Dealer. During the first use after paint spraying your unit may give
off a slight odour. This will quickly disappear.
The glass can be cleaned with a proprietary glass cleaner available from your Dovre
Dealer. Never use abrasive or corrosive cleaning products.
The installation requires maintenance and inspection by a specialist at least once a
year. Maintenance will include the following:
Inspection and cleaning of the chimney.
Dusting and cleaning of the combustion chamber.
Dusting and cleaning of the burner. After removal of the log retainer and the
loose coals and matrixes or logs, the burner can simply be lifted out. Cleaning of
the burner is best carried out with a vacuum cleaner.
Dusting of the matrixes and coals.
Take care: these parts are very fragile: do not use any hard or abrasive
materials, and do not spray with compressed air!
Cle aning and inspection of the main injector.
Disassembly and cleaning of the pilot light injector and thermocouple.
Inspection of the gas line for leaks.
Operating test: lighting the pilot flame, lighting the main burner, checking the
correct functioning of the safety elements.
