3.2.

Ventilation

The burning of wood, charcoal or gas involves oxygen consumption. It is of the ut-
most importance that the room in which the stove is installed should be sufficiently
ventilated.
Insufficient ventilation may disrupt the combustion process and cause the smoke
flow through the chimney to be interrupted, which may lead to smoke emissions
into the room.
If necessary, you can install a ventilation grille to provide a constant flow of fresh air
in the room. This precaution is particularly necessary in well-insulated rooms with
mechanical ventilation. For minimum ventilation sections, please refer to the appli-
cable standards and regulations.
Ensure not to use other air-consuming appliances, such as heaters, cooking hoods,
bathroom ventilators, in the same room or in the house while the stove is burning;
or make sure to have an extra ventilation grill installed for these appliances.

Installation

4.1.

Preparation

Examine the unit for transport damage and/or visible damage immediately upon
receipt and if there is any, notify your supplier. In the meantime do not begin the
installation.
In order to avoid damage to the unit during installation it is recommended that you
first remove all loose parts and accessories found inside the unit.
To open the front door, first unscrew the locking bolt.
4.2.

Installing of the appliance

The unit must be installed in a recess constructed of non-combustible material. The
dimensions of the recess must be such that the fireplace can be easily placed and
provided with the necessary insulation. The finishing frame that comes with the unit
is used to close off the space between the outside of the unit and the edges of the
recess.
Make sure that the appliance is placed at the correct depth in the recess, in order to
allow the frame to fit perfectly against the wall (see annex 2 : dimensions).
4.3.

Connection to the chimney

The connection collar must be hermetically connected to the chimney by means of a
corrosion resistant pipe.
You might want to use the 'Dovre bayonet' system (optional). First attach a nut, a
washer, and then another nut to the screws on the top plate of the appliance (to the
left and to the right of the connection collar). The spanner
will be used on these washers later on. The 100 mm dia-
meter connection pipe, a flexible one if you wish, is assem-
bled to the small cast iron collar with a clamping ring and
the spanner inbetween. After the equipment has been pus-
hed into the niche, the pipe can be placed into the applian-
ce with the spanner at a minimal installation height using a
long screwdriver or bar. By turning the spanner to the
right, everything will be secured.
