15. Press again the Down Footswitch until the
upper tool touches the self-clinching fastener.
The pressing-in process starts.

When the press-in time is over, the upper

tool holder returns to its starting position.
16. Inspect result of the pressing-in process.
17. If the result is not adequate, start setup again.
18. If the set starting position is not optimal, use
the Rotary Knob Starting Position to change
the starting position of the upper tool holder.
The machine is set up.

3 .9 ADJUST FIXED STOP SYSTEM

The construction of the fixed stop
system is described in chapter
2.4.6.
3 .9 .1 Put fixed stop system into
operation
Precondition:
The machine is switched on, see chapter 4.1.
The optional fixed stop system is mounted on
the machine.
The machine is set up, see chapter 3.7 or 3.8.
The desired tool is installed in both tool
holders.
1. Turn the clamp screw clockwise until the nut
tube and stop tube can be turned easily.
2. Turn the nut tube clockwise by hand until the
upper and lower tools almost touch each other.
3 .9 .2 Adjust the fixed stop system to
workpiece and self-clinching fastener
The setting of the fixed stop
system must be repeated when the
dimensions of the workpiece or the
height of the self-clinching fastener
change.
To set the fixed stop system, the
used type of workpiece and the
used type of self-clinching fastener
are required.
Precondition:
The machine is switched on, see chapter 4.1.
The optional fixed stop system is mounted on
the machine.
The machine is set up, see chapter 3.7 or 3.8.
The desired tool is installed in both tool
holders.
1. Set the Selection Switch Operation/Setup to
Setup.

2. Insert the associated key into the Key Switch
Operating Mode.
3. Turn the Key Switch Operating Mode with the
key to Conductive Materials or Non-Conductive
Materials depending on the material of the
workpiece.
4. Place the workpiece on the lower tool so that
the hole is approximately in the middle of the
lower tool.
5. Place the self-clinching fastener on the hole of
the workpiece.
6. Keep hands away from both tool holders.
7. Press the Down Footswitch.
The upper tool holder moves down and
»
stops in front of the self-clinching fastener.
8. Turn the nut tube counterclockwise by hand
until the nut tube can no longer be turned.
9. Press the Up Footswitch until the workpiece
can be easily removed from the lower tool.
10. Remove the workpiece and the self-clinching
fastener from the lower tool.
11. Turn the nut tube by hand two turns clockwise.
The fixed stop system is set for the used
»
type of workpiece and the used type of
self-clinching fastener.
3 .10 SET UP TOOL PROTECTION
SYSTEM
The construction of the tool
protection system is described in
chapter 2.4.10.
To set up the tool protection system,
a non-conductive workpiece and a
self-clinching fastener are needed.
Precondition:
The machine is switched on, see chapter 4.1.
The optional fixed stop system is mounted on
the machine.
The machine is set up for non-conductive
materials, see chapter 3.8.
The desired tool is installed in both tool
holders.
1. Set the Selection Switch Operation/Setup to
Setup.
2. Insert the associated key into the Key Switch
Operating Mode.
3. Turn the Key Switch Operating Mode with the
key to Non-Conductive Materials.
4. Place the workpiece on the lower tool so that
the hole is approximately in the middle of the
lower tool.
