3 .4 INSERT UPPER TOOL

The construction of the tool holder
is described in chapter 2.4.5.
Precondition:
The feet are away from the footswitch.
1. Loosen the clamp screw on the upper tool
holder or on the adapter.
2. Insert the desired tool into the upper tool holder
or adapter.
3. Tighten the clamp screw on the upper tool
holder or adapter.
4. Check the tight fit of the tool by hand.
The upper and lower tools must be
aligned with each other. Aligning the
two tools may require loosening the
lower tool holder.
WARNING
Tool and workpiece not aligned
Serious injury or material damage
Align the upper and lower tools
parallel or at right angles to one
another.
Align tool and workpiece evenly
to one another.
Remove any unevenness from
the contact surfaces of the
upper and lower tool.

3 .5 INSTALL LOWER TOOL HOLDER

Warning
Exceeding the allowed force for
tool holder J-frame
Minor injury or material damage
When using the J-frame,
never exceed the maximum
allowed press-in force of 40 kN
(9000 lb).
Remove the J-frame before
using a press-in force greater
than 40 kN (9000 lb).
The construction of the tool holder
is described in chapter 2.4.5.
Precondition:
The feet are away from the footswitch.
1. Loosen the screws, which fix the tool holder to
the machine frame.

The type of fixing of the lower tool
holder depends on the type of tool
holder used.
2. Remove lower tool holder from machine frame.
3. Insert the desired lower tool holder.
4. Align the lower tool holder with the upper tool
holder.
5. Fix the lower tool holder to the machine frame
with the provided screws.

3 .6 INSERT LOWER TOOL

The construction of the tool holder
is described in chapter 2.4.5.
Precondition:
The feet are away from the footswitch.
The lower tool holder is already installed, see
chapter 3.5.
1. Turn counterclockwise with the quick change
tool.
2. Insert the desired lower tool.
3. Turn the quick change tool clockwise to tighten
the lower tool.
4. Check the tight fit of the tool by hand.
The upper and lower tools must be
aligned with each other. Aligning the
two tools may require loosening the
lower tool holder.

3 .7 SETUP FOR CONDUCTIVE
MATERIALS
This mode is used when the
workpiece is made of an electrically
conductive material, such as steel
or metal.
Preconditions:
The machine is switched on, see chapter 4.1.
The desired tool is installed in both tool
holders.
