Cold start

IMPORTANT – Danger of kickback!
Always pull the starter cord straight out. Do not let
it spring back abruptly.
1. Set the START/STOP switch (19-4) to START.
2. Push in the throttle lever detent (19-5) and press the
throttle lever at the same time (19-6).
3. Set the choke lever (19-1) to the CHOKE position.

encountering resistance, then pull it further out quickly
to the end of its travel, and guide the starter toggle
back slowly so that the starter cord will be wound in

Warm start
1. Set the ignition switch to START.

3. Lock the throttle lever as described for "Cold start".
4. Pull the starter cord quickly a maximum of 6 times
– the engine starts. Keep the throttle lever fully
depressed until the engine runs smoothly.
If the engine does not start:
Set the choke lever to RUN
Pull the starter cord 5 times
If the engine still does not start:
Wait for 5 minutes and then try again with the
throttle lever depressed
Refer to the "Help in case of malfunctions" chapter.

Switching off the engine
1. Release the throttle lever and let the engine run at
idling speed.
2. Set the ignition switch to STOP.
IMPORTANT!
The engine runs on when shutting down – danger
of injury!
Operation
Whilst trimming and cutting, always keep the engine
running in its upper engine speed range
