Safety instruction for polemounted pruner
Anyone working with the polemounted pruner must
be able to demonstrate that they have the appropriate
training for such work, and must be familiar with the
use of the polemounted pruner and the personal
protective equipment.
Only use a suitable guide rail and saw chain
combination as described in the "Technical data".
Incorrect combinations increase the danger of
kickback!
tank regularly. Immediately replenish the saw chain oil
so that the saw chain will not run dry.
Is the saw chain correctly tensioned? Comply with the
points in the "Tensioning the saw chain" section.
Is the saw chain correctly sharpened? Only use well
sharpened saw chains, because blunt saw chains not
only increase the danger of kickback but also place
greater strain on the engine.
Do not use any cracked saw chains or saw chains that
have become misshapen.
When switching on, support the polemounted pruner
must be unobstructed.
Before starting to cut, make sure that the saw chain
has reached its full speed.
Do not try to continue a cut that has already been
started.
Do not use the polemounted pruner for lifting or
moving wood.
Take care when sawing splintered wood. There is a
risk of injury due to pieces of wood being thrown out.
Make sure you are standing securely when using the
polemounted pruner.
Regularly change your working position in order to
avoid a one-sided working posture.
Make sure that there are no foreign bodies in the wood
(nails, etc.).
Take care at the end of a saw cut. As soon as the
polemounted pruner comes out of the wood, its weight
will change. Risk of injury to the legs and feet.
Only remove the polemounted pruner from the cut
when the saw chain is running.
Switch off the machine immediately if the saw chain
jams in the wood. Use a wedge to free the guide rail
again.
Never touch wire fences or the ground with the running
saw chain.
During breaks in work, secure the polemounted pruner
(apply the chain guard) and put it down so that no-
one is endangered. Protect the polemounted pruner
