Working with the cutting blade
Avoiding kickback
IMPORTANT!
Risk of injury due to uncontrolled
kickback!
When working with metal cutting blades, there may
be a kickback of the entire machine or a sudden
pull forwards when encountering solid objects
(trees, branches, stones or the like).
This kickback occurs suddenly and without
warning. It can lead to loss of control over the
machine and can endanger the user and people
in the vicinity. Areas with restricted visibility and
dense vegetation represent a particular risk.
Always hold the machine securely with both hands
when working.
Make sure you can stand securely. Keep your feet
apart at a comfortable distance, and always be
prepared for the possibility of kickback.
Do not overestimate your own abilities, and maintain
your balance at all times when working.
Before starting cutting, allow the cutting blade to reach
its full working speed.
When cutting on open ground, stones and gravel could be
thrown into the air and lead to serious injuries. Make sure
that the guard plate is securely mounted. If rotating parts
(cutting blade) are attached incorrectly, this can result in
serious accidents. Before starting work, check the cutting
Mowing
Angle the machine slightly forwards and move it from
right to left at an appropriate and even speed. In this
way, the cut material will fall onto the area that has
already been mown.
Cut long grass and relatively dense vegetation in
several passes.
the material being cut by sweeping the machine to
the right. Then sweep the machine to the left in the
opposite direction and mow the lower part.
When working parallel to the slope, proceed in strips.
Mow one strip parallel to the slope, then walk back
along the mown area and mow the next strip.
Adapt the engine speed and the depth of cut to the
particular conditions. If the engine in not running fast
enough, it is possible for undergrowth to get snagged
or caught in the cutting tool.
If grass, branches or other objects get caught in the
cutting tool or the machine vibrates unusually, switch
the engine off immediately and check the machine.

If the bevel gear unit is blocked, this can cause
damage to the clutch.
Never remove trapped cut material when the cutting
blade is still running. Consequently, wait until the
cutting blade has stopped.
If the cutting blade is blunt, broken or bent, replace it
with a genuine spare part.
Working with the spool
Trimming
Angle the machine slightly forwards and move it from
left to right at an appropriate and even speed.
The best cutting results are achieved when cutting dry
grass.
Do not move the cutting line directly along walls and
stone slabs, since this will cause the cutting line to
wear down too quickly.
Cut long grass and relatively dense vegetation in
several passes, to prevent the spool from blocking.
Adapt the engine speed and the depth of cut to the
particular conditions. If the engine in not running fast
enough, it is possible for undergrowth to get snagged
or caught in the cutting tool.

cutting tool or the machine vibrates unusually, switch
the engine off immediately and check the machine.
If the bevel gear unit is blocked, this can cause
damage to the clutch.
The cutting line continues to turn after the spool
attachment has been switched off. Consequently,
wait until the line has stopped before you switch the
machine back on again.
If the spool is empty, replace it with a genuine spool.
