each other:
a.
Unfasten the connecting hose from the outer vest.
b.
Unscrew the coupling (G-1).
c.
Pull the flap (G-2) off the silencer and remove the silencer (G-3).
2.
Prepare a cleaning solution consisting of water and a cleaning agent.
3.
Clean the outer vest and the connecting hose using a soft, lint-free cloth and
cleaning solution. If necessary, clean the threads of the silencer and
coupling.
4.
Thoroughly clean all parts using a soft, lint-free cloth and water.
5.
If necessary, prepare a disinfectant solution consisting of water and a
disinfecting agent.
6.
Disinfect the outer vest and the connecting hose using a soft, lint-free cloth
and the disinfectant solution.
7.
Thoroughly clean all parts using a soft, lint-free cloth and water.
8.
Allow all the parts to air dry.
Hang up the outer vest to dry. The blue breathing air channel should not be
bent.
Dräger recommends allowing the vest to air dry at room temperature.
Machine cleaning
The inner and outer vest can be cleaned by machine. The silencer and
connecting hose must not be cleaned by machine.
The inner vest can be washed at a maximum of 30 °C in a drum washing
machine with a heavy-duty detergent.
The outer vest should only be cleaned by machine if the contamination cannot
be removed manually.
Clean the outer vest as follows (see Fig. G on Page 5):
1.
Remove any visible contamination.
2.
Disconnect the inner and outer vest, connecting hose and silencer from
each other:
a.
Unfasten the connecting hose from the outer vest.
b.
Unscrew the coupling (G-1).
c.
Pull the flap (G-2) off the silencer and remove the silencer (G-3).
3.
If necessary, manually clean the threads of the silencer and coupling.
4.
Place the outer vest in a laundry net (approx. 40 cm x 50 cm).
5.
Wash the outer vest using a washing programme for respiratory masks and
®
neodisher
MediClean forte at a maximum of 30 °C. The drum washing
machine must be filled (e.g. with 8 vests).
6.
Check that the outer vest has been rinsed sufficiently. There should be no
visible residue.
7.
Unfasten the shoulder harnesses.
8.
Hang up the outer vest to dry. The blue breathing air channel should not be
bent.
Dräger recommends allowing the vest to air dry at room temperature.
NOTICE
At washing temperatures higher than 30°C, the polyester fibres will be
damaged. If the drum washing machine is not completely filled, the mechanical
stress will result in additional damage.
After cleaning and disinfecting
Assemble all parts.
Insert the silencer into the outer vest, place the flap on the silencer and
tighten the coupling (torque: max. 10 Nm, see Fig. G on Page 5).
Thread the straps so that they can be tightened again (see Fig. D on Page 4).

Maintenance work
Performing a visual inspection
The following checks are mandatory. In the event of defects, the outer vest, inner
vest and connecting hose can be replaced individually. Only use the ventilation
vest if it is free of faults. In the event of defects, inform Dräger or trained service
personnel.
Check all components and accessories.
The system must be clean and undamaged. Typical signs of damage that
can affect the operation of the equipment are impact damage, scratches,
cuts, oxidation and discolouration.
If compressed air hoses or compressed air components are removed or
replaced, ensure before refitting that threads and drill holes are clean and
undamaged. Carry out a function test before using again.
