For information on maintenance of the air line breathing apparatus, see the
corresponding technical manual.
Dräger recommends logging all maintenance work.

Maintenance table
The specified intervals are recommended by Dräger. They also apply to any
unused, intermediate equipment. If necessary, divergent national regulations
must be observed.

Cleaning and disinfecting
CAUTION
For cleaning and disinfecting, do not use any solvents (e.g. acetone, alcohol) or
cleaning agents with scouring particles. Only follow the specified procedure and
use the specified cleaning and disinfecting agents. Other agents, dosages and
contact times may damage the product.

6.2.1 Cleaning and disinfecting the air line breathing apparatus
CAUTION
Do not immerse pneumatic components in cleaning solution or water. If water
gets trapped and then freezes in the equipment's pneumatic system, operation
will be limited.
► Prevent liquid from getting in. Dry the equipment thoroughly after cleaning.
If necessary, ask Dräger for information on cleaning methods for heavily
soiled parts.
If pneumatic components have to be removed, get service personnel or Dräger
to do this.
1.
Prepare a cleaning solution consisting of water and a cleaning agent.
2.
Clean the air line breathing apparatus using a soft, lint-free cloth and
cleaning solution. If necessary, disassemble the air line breathing apparatus

and clean the individual parts (see technical manual of the air line breathing
apparatus).

3.
Thoroughly rinse all components under running water.
4.
Prepare a disinfectant solution consisting of water and a disinfecting agent.

5.
Wet all surfaces with the disinfectant solution. Make sure that the surfaces
remain visibly wet for 15 minutes.
6.
Thoroughly rinse all components under running water.
7.
Dry all the components with a dry cloth, in a heated dryer or allow to air dry.
6.2.2 Cleaning and disinfecting the vest
Note on machine cleaning and immersion baths:
The ventilation vest is normally not exposed to any contamination as it is
completely protected by the suit. The inner vest, which may come into contact
with sweat, can easily be cleaned and disinfected in an immersion bath. The
inner vest must then be rinsed very thoroughly under running water.
If necessary, the outer vest may be placed in a disinfection immersion bath. The
outer vest must then be rinsed very thoroughly under running water and
connected to the air line breathing apparatus as well as a source of compressed
air, so that the system is additionally flushed with compressed air. Dräger
recommends placing the outer vest in the immersion bath for a maximum of
15 minutes and using immersion baths as rarely as possible, otherwise the
silicone can absorb the smell of the disinfecting agent.
