TEDS transducer identification
TEDS (Transducer Electronic Data Sheet) allows you to store the sensor cha
racteristic values in a chip as per the IEEE 1451.4 standard. The S9M can be
delivered with TEDS, which is then fitted in the transducer housing, connected
and supplied with data by HBM before delivery. If the force transducer is or
dered without calibration, the characteristic values from the manufacturing cer
tificate are stored in the TEDS chip. If an additional DKD calibration is ordered,
the calibration results are stored in the TEDS chip.
The TEDS module is connected between PIN E (sense lead (-)) and PIN D
(excitation voltage lead (-)). HBM's zero wire configuration allows the TEDS to
be read without an additional sense lead.
If a suitable amplifier is connected (e.g. QuantumX from HBM), then the am
plifier electronics will read the TEDS chip and parameterization will follow auto
matically, without any intervention required by the user.
The chip content can be edited and modified with suitable hardware and sof
tware. This can be implemented, e.g. with the Quantum Assistant or also with
the CATMAN DAQ software from HBM. Please follow the operating manuals of
these products.
