Possible cause
High temperature protection of the house
battery. The charging booster switches to
reduced charging voltage (12.8 V) and the
maximum charging current is halved when
the temperature of the battery exceeds the
cutoff value (>50 °C).
Only LiFePO4 batteries: Low temperature
protection of the house battery. The
charging booster switches to reduced
charging voltage (12.8 V) and the maxi-
mum charging current is halved when the
temperature of the battery drops below
the cutoff value (< –20 °C).
Only LiFePO4 batteries: Low temperature
protection of the house battery. The
charging booster switches to reduced
charging current when the temperature of
the battery drops below the cutoff value
(< 0 °C).
Low voltage protection of the starting bat-
tery. Battery voltage too low (> set value
for "increase of charging power", see
chapter "Setting the operating mode" on
page 21). The charging booster switches
to reduced charging current (<30 %) to
protect the battery.
Shutdown by safety timer. The I phase has
lasted too long (>15 h).
Too many DC loads connected.
The battery is defective.
Overheating of the charging booster.
Reversed polarity of the house battery.
The house battery is already charged.
The charging current is not set correctly.
The battery is significantly sulfated.
Hidden cutoff relay present (e.g. in the
central electrical system).
Suggested remedy
➤ Check that the air inlets and outlets are not
➤ Allow the battery to cool down.
The charging booster returns automatically to
full charging voltage and current when the
temperature drops to the restart value
(<48 °C).
➤ Move the battery to a warmer location.
The charging booster restarts automatically
when the temperature exceeds the restart
value (> –18 °C)
➤ Move the battery to a warmer location
The charging booster restarts automatically
when the temperature exceeds the restart
value (>0 °C).
The charging booster returns automatically to
full charging current when the voltage rises to
the restart value (set value for "reduction of
charging power", see chapter "Setting the
operating mode" on page 21).
➤ Reset the device by removing the control
➤ Reduce the connected DC loads.
➤ Replace the battery.
The charging booster restarts automatically
when the temperature drops.
