PRODUCTSPECIFIC INFORMATION
Fitting
To provide safe protection, this helmet must be adapted to the
head size of the user. The safety helmet must be adjusted to head
size in such a way so that it cannot shift or slip off when the chin
strap has been tightened. This is the only way to ensure
protection from the helmet. The helmet is only secure when the
chinstrap is closed, the straps are pulled taught, and adjustments
have been made to fit individual head size. The straps may not
cover the ears and the closure may not rest on the chin. No
pressure should be exerted on the larynx when the chinstrap is
closed. The helmet should always be horizontal on the user's
head in order to also protect the forehead.
MADILLO
Prior to use, completely unfold the helmet (Fig. 1).
1.) Unfold rear shell fully.
2.) Pull out side shells until these audibly click into place on the
hooks of the rear shell. Whilst doing so, pull backward and
hold the rear shell with moderate force. The helmet is now
unfolded to the maximum head size.
Attention: The helmet must not be used with the side shells
pushed in.
To adapt the helmet to the head size of the user, put the
helmet on and push the side shells into the rear shell (Fig. 2).
To increase the helmet size, lift adjusting clip A lightly
and pull the rear shell to a larger position (Fig. 3).
Using the belt adjusting braces on the sides of the chin belt, the
position of the chin belt can be adjusted to the user's
head shape.
Transport version: The helmet can be folded for transport (Fig. 4).
1.) Lift adjusting clip A lightly and pull the rear shell backward
to the largest position.
2.) Lift adjustment clip A lightly and fully push in the side shells,
fold the rear shell in.
ULTRALIGHT; ULTRALIGHTJUNIOR; ULTRALIGHTWORK;
ARBORLIGHTWORK
Adjusting to head size is carried out by means of the neck strap.
Prior to usage, always ensure that adjusting buckle of the neck
strap is properly closed. The suspension cinches on the sides of
the chinstrap allow the position of the strap to be individually
adjusted to fit any head shape.
SHIELD II, ZODIAC
Adjusting to head size: there is a turn button in the nape region
of the helmet. Turning to the left will release the headband.
Turning to the right (clockwise) gradually reduces the head size
(Fig. 5). The suspension cinches located on the side of the
chinstrap allow the strap to be adjusted to individual head size.
Opening of the buckle (Fig. 6).
SHIELD LITE, ZODIAC LITE
Adjusting to head size (Fig. 7 - Fig. 8).
Opening of the buckle (Fig. 6).
Adapting the chin belt around the ears on SHIELD II and
SHIELD LITE
The helmet is supplied with the longest possible adjustment of
the chin belt. To shorten the chin belt, pull the rear fastening
hooks for the headlamp from their seats (Fig. 9). Remove the
hook from the belt and re-attach it to one of the three eyes on
the belt (Fig. 10) to achieve the best possible length of the chin
belt, especially around the ears. Once you have adjusted the
correct length, feed the belt back through the opening into the
helmet's shell. Pulling the belt causes the headlamp hook to
attach to the outside of the helmet (Fig. 11).
