Smoke exhaust roof fans F400/F600 – B VD
Base attenuator for flat roof base B SSD:
− Base attenuator with links for insertion in flat roof base, for intake-side sound insulation of
smoke exhaust roof fans in temperature classes F400 and F600
− Average insulation value = 9 dB.
− Specially adapted for use with flat roof base B FDS in sizes 300 mm and 500 mm.
− Base attenuator made of stainless steel with suspended links. Sendzimir galvanised surfa-
ce. 80 mm wide links with abrasion-resistant insulation made of fire-resistant, elastic rock
wool. Insulation material lined with perforated sheet.
− Installation of intake-side accessories to fan base plate not possible when using
B SSD.
Deflector B DEF SL 2000:
− For placement on smoke exhaust roof fans in temperature classes F400 and F600 for snow
load class SL 2000.
− Mounting by means of mounting profiles on the outlet side.
− Made of galvanised steel sheet. Four mounting profiles made of steel sheet, powder-coated
surface in RAL 7015, corrosion protection class C2.
− Reliably prevents the penetration of snow and hail in the fan.
− The deflector cannot be used at the same time as the Hood silencer B HSDV .
Deflector B DEF SL 3000:
− For placement on smoke exhaust roof fans in temperature classes F400 and F600 for
snow load class SL 3000.
− Mounting by means of mounting profiles on the discharge-side.
− Made of aluminium, plate rolled. Four steel sheet mounting profiles, powder-coated surface
in RAL 7015, corrosion protection class C2.
− Reliably prevents the penetration of snow and hail in the fan.
− Simultaneous use with roof fan attenuator B HSDV is not possible.
Roof fan attenuator B HSDV:
− Roof fan attenuator with inner core for placement on smoke exhaust roof fans in temp.
classes F400 and F600.
− Average insulation value = 8 dB.
− Mounting by means of mounting profiles on the discharge-side.
− Made of aluminium, plate rolled. Four steel sheet mounting profiles, powder-coated surface
in RAL 7015, corrosion protection class C2.
− Abrasion-resistant insulation made of fire-resistant, elastic rock wool. Insulation material
lined with perforated sheet.
− Simultaneous use with Deflector B DEF SL 2000 or SL 3000 is not possible.

Assembly – Installation
m The fan can tip over and crush limbs during installation/unpacking .
Observe transport diagram and centre of gravity (see section 2.2 Shipping)!
m Sharp edges can cut you during installation .
Wear protective footwear and gloves.
m The rotating impeller can cause injury to limbs .
The installation must be carried out so that access on the intake side is not possible (e.g. through piping, protection
guard, sufficient height above the ground).
All occupational safety regulations, installation conditions and declarations of performance must be observed for as-
sembly and installation! The smoke exhaust fans must be positioned and installed so that inspection, maintenance and
repair work can be carried out easily and safely.
Installation conditions
VA:
Suitable for "vertical installation", drive axle inclination not permissible.
LB:
For "Ventilation mode" -20 °C to +60 °C.
IF:
"Outside" fan without insulating layer if it is ensured that rainwater cannot penetrate the smoke exhaust
fan.
BG:
Only over heated rooms.
ND:
Roof installation only.

Roof installation

m The safety instructions specified in section 1 and 2 must be observed!
m Do not stand under suspended loads!
m Appropriate fall protection measures must be taken when working on roofs or building edges .
Lift the flat roof base onto the roof with a suitable crane (note weight information). Place the flat roof base over the
ceiling opening on the raw ceiling of the flat roof. Then align with the roof so that the circumferential adhesive rim is
horizontal. Completely run the roof coating over the adhesive rim of the base and seal with bitumen fibre cement.
Tightly screw the roof base to the raw ceiling of the flat roof through the provided drill holes. Then carry out the ne-
cessary insulation work (insulation, waterproofing, vapour barrier etc.) on-site (see Fig. 6).
