Bearing condition diagnostics

Type: LZD-Basic and LZD-Comfort
The Helios bearing condition diagnostics system serves to securely monitor the functionality of motor bearings in
the drive motor of the smoke extraction fan. The system optionally allows the early detection of imminent bearing
damage by constantly or occasionally monitoring the bearing conditions. The bearings are not replaced periodically,
but depending on the actual wear. In this respect, the test and maintenance plan in these Installation and Operating
Instructions must be observed. Before operation and the use of bearing condition diagnostics, the separate Installation
and Operating Instructions for the monitoring system must be observed.

Minimum air gap in compliance with the material combinations

Move impeller by hand to check unhindered running of impeller!
Check the minimum gap between the inside of the centrifugal impeller and the outside of the nozzle according to the
following table before installation:

If the observed values do not correspond to the specified dimensions, the fan must not be installed or opera-

Maximum permissible vibration limits according to ISO 14694 / ISO 10816-3
– Vibration monitor
When using vibration monitors, these must not deactivate the smoke exhaust fan in a smoke extraction
situation!

– Installation of a vibration monitor
The vibration monitor (on-site) must be installed on the casing of the fan and it must not lie in the turning range zone
of the impeller.
The air gap (see Fig . 9) must not be affected by the installation of the vibration monitor!
